This Electrical Engineer candidate with a strong background in and understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals will provide expertise in the design, development and testing of quality commercial portable HVACs and military-grade environmental control units (ECUs).

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Actively participate in the engineering product design process
  • Design electrical control panels and perform components selection (motors, controls, etc.)
  • Develop electrical control wiring schematics using Microsoft Visio
  • Create detailed engineering CAD drawings (2D and 3D) for production lines
  • Perform system-level and component-level electrical testing and troubleshooting
  • Perform qualification testing on new and customized units record test results in a database
  • Ensure that all electrical/control designs are in compliance with national or local standards
  • Process and keep track of engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change notices (ECNs)
  • Create new and manage existing bills of materials
  • Provide technical contents for products operation and maintenance manuals
  • Provide engineering assistance to technicians during troubleshooting
  • Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings to provide technical expertise
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a design or manufacturing environment (experience in a high-reliability, precision-engineering environment highly preferred)
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with electrical/control circuit design and analysis
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NEC/NFPA codes and standards
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Microsoft Visio highly desired)
  • Experience with electrical testing instruments (e.g. Digital Multimeter, Clamp Meter, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to schedule and quality
  • Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously
  • Must be comfortable in a hands-on and fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well with other engineers and team members throughout the company
  • Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US.

HVAC Runout Technician

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC Technician to calibrate, test, and perform quality assurance/quality control on HVAC systems, many of these units are custom units. The HVAC Technician will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting, and troubleshooting systems. You will work with and advise our Engineering and Production teams, providing feedback on HVAC unit construction and performance. These are advanced precision-engineered products requiring a highly experienced and skilled technician.

To be successful in this role quality of workmanship, safety, and constancy should be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be patient, and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.

HVAC Technician Responsibilities:

  • Test, Calibrate, and Inspect newly constructed HVAC units
  • Identifying any production mistakes.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of all findings.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.

HVAC Technician Requirements:

  • Current HVAC Certification is preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
  • 2+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
  • Working knowledge of boiler systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Ability to possibly work after hours or over weekends with short or no notice.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

  • a proven track record in sales
  • highly experienced working in and/or experience selling to the telecommunications, spacecraft production, or government/military market andhighly experienced selling HVAC solutions for mission-critical projects in one or more of the target markets mentioned below such as satellite communications, aerospace, and or telecommunications (portable shelter structures), etc. Experience selling Environmental Control Units (ECUs) and Military Environmental Control Units (MECUs) to the government/ defense market a plus but not a core requirement of this commercial markets sales engineer position.
  • have a working knowledge of HVAC principles and applications,

you could be an ideal-fit as we continue to grow the Air Rover team.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • An engineering background and degree. The effective Air Rover HVAC Sales Engineer will be an “Engineers‘ Engineer” — someone who can easily communicate with and sell his or her experience and expertise to Engineers from many fields and industries.
  • Challenging Environmental Control APPLICATIONS EXPERT: He or she is an authority on advanced applications and componentry and controls/networking of HVAC.
  • Ideally, the candidate is already selling custom and specialized HVAC in one or more of the following target markets:
  • Satellite Communications antenna / dish cooling or cooling the satcom shelter below the antenna
  • Telecommunications shelter cooling
  • Emergency and/or supplemental cooling for data centers and co-location facilities
  • Battery Storage Cooling
  • Mission-critical cooling applications, such as specialized cooling systems used in space industry / aerospace (rocket battery cooling & rocket transport spot-cooling)
  • Explosion- proof HVAC market —- hvac units encased and hardened for explosive applications such as oil & gas industry requirements, mining, excavation, etc.
  • Mission-critical cooling for nuclear power facilities
  • Specialty (custom) cooling for manufacturing processes, e.g., pharmaceutical clean room cooling or any hot-spot manufacturing environment
  • Paper mill and steel mill process cooling
  • Hospital emergency and back-up cooling - negative pressure requirements during construction in hospital/patient environments, any application with cooling/environmental control issues
  • Custom HVAC applications
  • Must have an established sales track record selling HVAC mission-critical cooling systems (ideally already selling HVAC solutions in one or combination of our target markets listed above)
  • Highly comfortable and confident with a commission-oriented compensation package (stemming from proven track record mentioned above)
  • Possess established industry connections and networks
  • Manage a year-round calendar of sales appointments at qualified customer accounts, attend industry conferences and trade shows, and book and host customer visits to the Air Rover HQ and manufacturing plant in Tyler, TX as needed to meet/ exceed sales quota and win new customer accounts.
  • Willing to travel up to 70% of time until sales volume goals are achieved, then adjust to maintain relationships and add new accounts as sales quotas demand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering degree- Electrical, Mechanical or other related degree
  • 5 years selling advanced mechanical solutions, preferably in mission-critical applications

OTHER:

  • Prefer candidate based in Texas, within day travel to Air Rover manufacturing facility in Tyler, Texas.
  • Will consider candidates from other locations, if candidate’s experience closely tracks to this Sales Engineer position requirements.
